No Bake Chocolate Fudge
Something from mom to moms this Christmas...
As mentioned on my previous post about the baking during this beautiful advent season in prepartion for Chirtmas, if like me, you're often short of time for all that preparation, this recipe might be a perfect solution. It is dead easy and best of all, you won't even need to switch the oven on! They are also guarantee to taste as good as they look so give it a try!

If you were to make them for children, they can be a bit less sophisticated by replacing macadamia nuts with any other type of nut and dried figs with raisins or dried apricots :)
No-bake chocolate, nut and fig slices
Makes 16:
100g butter
2 tablespoons runny honey
300g dark chocolate (50-70% cocoa), broken into pieces
100g milk chocolate, broken into pieces
100g digestive or other sweetmeal biscuits
100g shelled macadamia nuts
100g ready-to-eat dried figs
A spoon full extra cocoa powder for dusting
18cm square tin, ideally loose-based, oiled
Method:
Put the butter, honey and both types of chocolate in a medium pan and melt gently, stirring from time to time. Meanwhile, roughly chop the biscuits, nuts and figs. Stir into the melted chocolate mixture. Tip the mixture into the prepared tin. Leave to cool completely before refridgerating for 2-3 hours to set. Cut into 16 slices and they're ready to serve!

Let the "Count down" begin!!!
It's December the 1st and just how much my kids have been looking forward to this day! They can finally get to open their very first present from their Advent Calendars!!!
Yes, I for one do get to feel like a kid once all over again myself as soon as the first sign of winter has arrived. It's kind of like; "Yippie!! Soon it's Christmas!" My head then begin to think of a Christmas theme of the year and the sort of presents I would like to give out...the decoration...the cookies and oops, the cards! But the very one thing that I actually enjoy doing the most in preparation for this most beautiful time of the year are these Advent Calendars. I think they're such a joy to make and they really do mark the beginning of the "Count down" towards Christmas. They also make wonderful trick to speed up my kids in the morning as they could hardly wait to find out what inside those little packages before leaving for school :-)
